The LCGC Blog
Exosomes are small lipid membrane-bound extracellular vesicles, on the order of 30 – 150 nm in diameter, which are shed by normal and tumor cells in the body. They are circulating within your body and can be isolated from virtually any biological fluid. Exosomes released from tumor cells have been shown to be enriched in certain proteins. These nanobodies hold significant promise for the discovery of cancer biomarkers, for cancer diagnosis and prognosis, and for biomarker quantitation.

Native-MS Protein-Ligand Affinity
Native MS monitors the molecular mass of protein complexes under non-denaturing conditions. It can provide key insight into the identity of bound ligands, the stoichiometry of protein-ligand binding and even strength of binding. Use a Native-MS QTOF system as a starting point in drug discovery research where libraries of small molecule fragments (potential drugs) are screened to identify fragments that bind with a protein or ribosome target. Try our solution-based, affinity selection, coupled column SEC-RPC or SEC-Native MS assay techniques today!

This article gives a brief overview of the advantages and limitations of recently introduced mathematical procedures such as the Fourier deconvolution of extracolumn effects, iterative curve fitting, multivariate curve resolution, modified power law, and use of first and second derivatives in enhancing resolution. High-throughput analyses in gas chromatography (GC), LC, and supercritical fluid chromatography (SFC) could benefit from these simple and effective approaches in many challenging separations applications.
