Effects of Buffer Capacity in Reversed-Phase Liquid Chromatography, Part I: Relationship Between the Sample- and Mobile-Phase Buffers
Dwight R. Stoll and Thomas J. Lauer We return to the important topic of buffers, this time focusing on what happens when there is a mismatch between the mobile-phase buffer pH and the pH that the sample is buffered at.

Commercial Sample Preparation Materials for Isolation of Intact Proteins from Biological Samples are Absent in the Marketplace
Kevin A. Schug A top-down approach to quantifying intact proteins from biological fluids using liquid chromatography–triple quadrupole–mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) offers the potential for more absolute quantitation than bottom-up approaches. To make this broadly viable, however, commercial sample preparation tools are needed.

Molecular Weight Analysis of Glatiramer Acetate and Related Compounds by Size-Exclusion Chromatography with Multi-Angle Light Scattering Detection (SEC-MALS)
Joseph L. Glajch, Ying Li, Wing-Yee Fu, Claire Coleman, Mani Iyer, Harper Kaminski, Jason Todd, and Timothy Rumfeldt A method was developed for the molecular weight characterization of heterogeneous polymer mixtures, such as heparins and glatiramer acetate, noting that single molecular structures are not adequate for creating a molecular weight calibration curve. That limitation is overcome in this work, which demonstrates method validation and application to process samples.
