Enjoyed Dr Diane Turner’s talk at Lab Innovations on using the Periodic Table in our GC-MS analyses? Download the presentation FREE and learn how it’s best to consider the chemistry of the molecules to be separated and detected at every step of your GC-MS analysis from sample preparation to data analysis. Discover the elements encountered and how their properties can help in identifying these molecules. Learn more
Features
The sample solvent can have a big impact on peak shape in both reversed-phase and hydrophilic interaction liquid chromatography (HILIC) separations, especially when large volumes are injected. Diluting the sample with weak solvent can be an effective solution to mitigate this problem, but we have to be careful to not lose analytes of interest to precipitation or phase separation.
