Kromasil expands portfolio for polar compounds
Whether you are performing separation or purification of biotherapeutics, your lab deals with increasingly complex mixtures also containing more polar compounds.
Kromasil, a brand of Nouryon, has expanded its portfolio of stationary phases to include the new wettable C18 phase specifically engineered for separating and purifying more polar peptide APIs.
This Kromasil C18(w) phase, based on spherical totally porous 100 Å silica, permits loading and run start in 100% aqueous, enabling new opportunities for engineers and scientists working with HPLC.

For purifications
Chromatographers select their stationary phase based on nature of the sample to purify. In biotherapeutics, peptides can be also polar or due to the solvent conditions, need to be loaded under 100% buffer conditions.
The example presented here is the result of preparative separation with Kromasil C18(w) for a peptide.

For separations
Kromasil’s wettable phase is also useful for the separation of synthetic compounds. In the Kromasil application guide you can find an example of using 100% aqueous conditions with Kromasil C18(w) for the separation of catecholamines.
