IonHance DFA mobile phase additives improve peptide characterization in both LC and MS workflows.
Waters: The Science of What's Possible

Better Resolution in Peptide Characterization

Liquid chromatography (LC) separations of peptides during characterization significantly benefit from the use of various mobile phase additives to improve signal, resolution, and peak shape.

Using MS-grade difluoroacetic acid (DFA) as an ion-pairing agent achieves a balance between the optical peak shape and the desired MS response in peptide LC-UV/MS-based workflows. As a weaker acid than TFA, DFA will not suppress ions or contaminate the MS system. But as a stronger acid than FA, DFA will resolve peaks and improve symmetry of UV detection.
