Expert Views on the Management of Diabetic Retinopathy and Retinal Vein Occlusion
Diabetic retinopathy and retinal venous occlusions, including central retinal vein occlusions (CRVO) and branch retinal vein occlusions (BRVO), are the most common retinal vascular disorders. Diabetic retinopathy is a major cause of blindness and low vision, and diabetic macular edema (DME) is the leading cause of functional vision loss in persons with diabetes.

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to explain the pathophysiology of DME, CRVO, and RVO; describe the evidence supporting vascular endothelial growth factor and anti-inflammatory agents as therapeutic targets; explain the standards of care for DME, CRVO, and RVO; compare available monotherapies and combination therapies for DME and RVO; discuss the current clinical evidence for treatments for DME and RVO, including treatments not shown to be effective; and discuss ongoing studies of treatment for DME and RVO. » Go to this activity
